What's In The Bible?
The following message is only for the brave . . . . ready . . . set . . . look at your calendar. Notice the month. It is December.
Shocking, I know! 2012 is only days away, right?. Who knew? It seems like it was summer last week!
2011 was full of changes and transitions. Good ones, hard ones, happy and sad ones. Yet, at the end of the year, we can look back and see how God was leading, and has been good to us throughout the year.
Since God is the same yesterday, today, and tomorrow, we know 2012 promises to be a great year also. We’re especially pumped for Riverbend 2012!
Throughout the year we are trusting God will give fruit to the hard work of the last several years ing planning and planting Riverbend Friends Church. The coming year is going to be an awesome ride!
One of the first changes that I’m excited about is River Kids. River Kids is our kids ministry for ages Pre-K thru 5th grade. In January River Kids will move into their brand new ministry space, with brand new programming called “What’s in the Bible?”.
The new ministry space is being renovated into a kid-friendly learning and ministry space as I write this. It is being designed and decorated to engage kids so they can hear, understand, and respond to God. It’s going to be so cool!
We’re excited about “What’s in the Bible?” Developed by the creator of Veggie Tales, this material walks kids through the Bible book by book. The material is intelligent and solid while communicating in a way that children can easily understand. And it is fun in the process! It’s an awesome program.
Stay tuned. There’s more to come.
See you @ The River!
Visions Statement vs. Vision Life-style
A friend of mine is replanting a church in Lansing. He shared this on their facebook page:
A vision statement often becomes a goal to be fulfilled through tools, programs, and resources.
A vision lifestyle is a way of life… integrated into every aspect of who we are and how we live

Dynamic Kernels Project 2 - Year 3 - Combining the Harvest
The wheat stood tall under the hot sun, rippling in the warm breeze. The green and yellow monster roared to life and began to devour the life giving grain, leaving behind the threshed grain and a carpet of gold.
Year 3 of our Dynamic Kernels Project 2 went quickly and smoothly. Most of the grain is on its way to the elevator, while the tithe portion for Riverbend Church is heading to the grist mill at the Lenawee County Fairgrounds. You can stop by during the fair and watch it being ground into flour, and then buy a couple pounds to take home and make into delicious homemade bread.
Check out the pictures of the wheat being combined at our Facebook page
